Tour Itinerary

On the very first day of the tour, arrive at Kathmandu airport, where our designated person will welcome you and transfer you to the hotel. While en route, visit the famous holy temples like Pashupatinath Temple and more. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

After an appetising meal, proceed to the airport to catch the flight for Nepalgunj. You will then be transferred to the hotel. In the evening, you will be briefed about the tour by our representative. Overnight stay at Nepalgunj in Hotel Siddhartha or Hotel Cygnett for a restful sleep.

Start your day with a drive to Nepalgunj airport, where you’ll catch a 40-50-minute flight to Simikot. Take a rest in Simikot, then continue the tour with a quick 10-20-minute helicopter ride to Hilsa. Once all group members arrive in Hilsa, drive together to Purang to stay for the night at the Hotel.

Today, you'll spend time in Purang to get settled in the cold ambiance of the high altitude and may go on a short trek to prepare for the Kailash Mansarovar Parikrama. Then stay overnight at a comfortable hotel, like Hotel Purang, Hotel Himalaya, or a similar option.

Purang is a small, clean town with many shops that sell useful items for your Yatra, like trekking sticks, water containers for holy Mansarovar water, packed juices, and other essentials. Remember to bargain, as its common practice in most shops here.

Start your journey to Mansarovar Lake by boarding an AC Volvo bus for a 2-hour distance. Upon arrival, you’ll take a holy dip in the waters and perform puja. The Parikrama around the lake takes about 2-3 hours, covering approximately 105 km. As you approach Mansarovar Lake, you’ll catch a breathtaking glimpse of divine Mount Kailash. At night, stay at a Guest house near Lake Mansarovar. If the weather stays clear, visit Mansarovar Lake in Brahma Muhurta or early morning to experience an unmatched divinity.

Reach Darchen which is the base for Kailash Parikrama and Ashtapad Darshan, taking a short drive from Mansarovar lake. At night, stay in hotel Himalaya or similar.

Important: If the Chinese authorities permit, the group will be able to visit Ashtapad.

Rise early in the morning and drive to Yam Dwar where you will start the very first step of the Kailash Parvat Parikrama and then head to Dirapuk which is a 10 km trek. As you move further, you'll see the North Face of Mount Kailash, a sacred sight that fills many with a deep sense of peace and blessings

On the other hand, the visitors who will not be going for Parikrama will travel back from Yam Dwar to Darchen, which is only thirty minutes away, and spend two nights in a guest house with an awesome view of Mount Kailash.

Note: The Parikrama is not compulsory for all visitors, some prefer to walk, ride a horse, or skip it altogether. Those staying in Darchen will be provided with meals and accommodation and will reunite with the Parikrama group after they complete their journey.

Start your second day of Parikrama from Dirapuk to Dolma La Pass, then visit Zuthulpuk covering a distance of 22 km. You will have to trek uphill at 18600 ft above sea level which makes it the most difficult part of the trekking journey in Kailash Yatra.

From Dolma La Pass move downwards to Gauri Kund and then continue to trek along the river to Zuthulpuk. Overnight stay at lodge or guest house.

The first 6-7 km has a very steep climb and is the most challenging trek of Yatra (till Dolma La Pass at 5600m).

Yatris are suggested to cover it at their comfortable pace & take rest wherever they need. After covering the first 6-7 km, the remaining distance of 16 km is flat, downward & comparatively easy.

Note: While doing the Parikrama, you will visit Shiva Sthal which is considered as a holy place for Tibetans who believe that whatever you offer here, you will get it in heaven.

On the 9th day of Mount Kailash Parikrama, you will trek about 8 km which takes around 3 hours to complete. Upon finishing the Parikrama, head towards Darchen to connect again with other group members who did not participate in the Parikrama of Mount Kailash, and from there carry on to Dongba. One-night accommodation will be provided in hotels such as Xixa Panama, Mu Being Chung, etc.

Drive back from Hilsa to Simikot by helicopter. Then catch the flight to Nepalgunj, and later arrive at Kathmandu by flight. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, stay for the night at a 4-star hotel, such as Hotel Shankar, Hotel Royal Singi, or a similar option.

After completing the pilgrimage Yatra, you will depart from Kathmandu. Continue your journey to your home destination with beautiful memories of the holy trip and carry Lord Shiva’s blessings with you.
