Char Dham Yatra by Helicopter (6 Days / 5 Nights)

Badrinath Dham

• The beautiful temple of Lord Badrivishal is situated beside the river Alaknanda in the Chamoli district.
• It is 43 Km distant from the nearest town, Joshimath.
• To reach the doorstep of Badrinath Temple, Ghangaria Helipad, located at 37 km distance, is utilised.

Kedarnath Dham

• The revered abode of Lord Shiva is located in Kedarnath town of district Rudraprayag.
• It is 47 Km away from the nearest town, Guptkashi and 15 km away from Gaurikund, the base camp.
• To reach the Kedarnath Temple by Helicopter, the Phata and Sirsi helipads are utilised.

Gangotri Dham

• The white marble temple enshrining Devi Ganga is located in district Uttarkashi.
• It is 98 Km away from Uttarkashi, the nearest developed town.
• To reach there, the Harsil Helipad is utilised, which is at 23 Km distance.

Yamunotri

• The holy temple of Maa Yamuna is situated in the Uttarkashi district.
• To reach the temple, Kharsali Helipad, placed at a 5.5 Km distance, is utilised.
• You can cover the distance from the Kharsali helipad to the temple by a rental taxi.

As a matter of fact, the sacred Yatra to Char Dham doesn't remain active for the whole year. Roughly, it remains active for 6 months from May to November. The reason behind this is the harsh weather conditions of the Garhwal region. During the cold season, the temperature falls below 0°C, the roads get covered with snow, and it's rare to witness a sunny day during the winter. Due to this freezing cold, the Government finds it risky for the pilgrims and so the Yatra is paused for 6 months of extreme cold.

Opening Date

According to the Hindu Panchang, the date of opening divine doors of Himalayan temples is on Akshaya Tritiya Tithi or in intervals of 1 or 2 days. Usually, the opening dates fall in late April or early May. Moreover, all temples don't open on the same day, and the auspicious date (Shubh Muhurat) is keenly decided by priests.

Opening Dates of Char Dham in 2025

• Badrinath Dham: 4th May, 2025
• Kedarnath Dham: 2nd May, 2025
• Gangotri Dham: 30th April, 2025
• Yamunotri Dham: 30th April, 2025

Closing Date

Similarly, the holy temples are closed during the Diwali festival. The closing dates of all the temples might differ every year, but it generally falls on the last week of October or first week of November. Before closing the sacred Yatra, the Doli of deities are brought down to nearby towns situated at comparatively lower altitude, where they are placed in different temples and worshipped in winters.

The ideal month to visit the Char Dham by air mode is May-June. In these two months of summer, the weather in Garhwal region is pleasant and sunny. Due to being sunny days, the temperature rises upto 20°C, which makes the atmosphere fresh and full of positive energies. Besides this, there are less chances of rainfall in the summer, and so it contributes in making the weather ideal for the visitors.

Along with the summer season, you can plan your aerial journey during October and November months as well. In these months of autumn, there is negligible rainfall, and hence the weather is usually clear from a tourism perspective.

Summer (May-June)

• The temperature varies from 5°C to 20°C, which is pleasant if you wear enough warmers.

Monsoon (July to September)

• The rainfall in the mountains is a bit risky and leads to challenges like landslides.
• Generally, you should avoid planning the trip during monsoon season. However, if you travel by Helicopter, then it's not that risky.

Autumn (October-November)

• In this season, the temperature drops slightly so the mornings and evenings are usually colder.

• Thereafter, you have to fill the details of name, mobile no., state, and the information about the tour company through which you have planned this spiritual journey.
• After entering details, you can proceed with creating the password and finish the registration process.
• Further, you can log in using your mobile no. and password and complete the rest of the form.
• After you submit the form, you will get the E Pass for visiting Char Dham of Uttarakhand.

There are a few terms and conditions related to our aerial tour which are created by our experts, these are:

• There are baggage limitations that you can only carry 5 kg of weight and you need to strictly follow it.
• If, in any case, your weightage goes out of the fixed limit, you will have to pay an extra amount for that.
• If you are travelling along with your kids of 2 years or less age, their tickets cost nothing, you only need to bring their birth certificates.
• You are required to arrive at your helipad early as the departure times of helicopters are always pre-decided.

In this section, we are going to suggest a few do's and don'ts that you need to follow to elude any worries throughout the aerial Yatra. So, let's look into them:

Do's

• You should always reach before the departure time at your allotted helipad.
• We recommend you layer yourself because as the helicopter flies higher, you come in contact with the cool breezes.
• You are required to inform us about your altitude sickness or serious illness (if any) before boarding the helicopter and also consult your doctor beforehand.
• During the ride, you should keep an eye on your own personal belongings, especially if you're travelling with unknown companions.
• Lastly, you should be attentive and fasten your seat belts and headsets as per the instructions given by your chopper pilot.

Don'ts:

• The most important thing is that do not overpack. Your extra and irrelevant things can cause a violation of the weightage policy of the helicopter. And, you will have to pay extra for that.
• You cannot disobey and overlook the safety or other guidelines shared by your pilot or tour guide.
• While your helicopter is in the air, you should not litter down on the route.
• It is not allowed to carry any kind of intoxicants as you are travelling to highly revered and ecologically sensitive places.

According to our cancellation policy, we generally do not promote this idea as it leads to unwanted disturbances in the working of the company. However, if you feel trapped in an inevitable situation, we are open to refunding your money for up to 7 days of booking.

Reschedule policy:

We try our best to not postpone our helicopter tour from the scheduled date. It commonly happens because of unpredictable weather conditions in the mountains. However, we make sure to inform you in advance if we become aware of the sudden climatic change and the rescheduling dates of the ride.
