Tour Itinerary

You will reach the designated pick-up point in Lucknow in the morning, where our representative will greet you. From there, we will proceed on our journey to Nepalgunj by an air-conditioned coach which will take about 4-5 hours.

Upon arrival, you will be checked into the pre booked hotel. Later on in the evening, our representative will discuss the details of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra tour. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Start your day early to board the flight from Nepalgunj to Simikot. The flight will take around 40-50 minutes to reach.

Take some rest after reaching Simikot, before proceeding on a helicopter again to Hilsa. The flight from Simikot to Hilsa will take around 10-20.

Once you reach Hilsa, you will be driven to Purang. Accommodation will be pre-arranged for you at Hotel Purang or Hotel Himalaya.

After arriving in Purang, you will spend the whole day acclimatizing (adapt to the new temperature) which might include a short trek to prepare for Mount Kailash Parikrama. Overnight stay at a hotel in Purang.

The essentials (packed snacks, beverages, trekking sticks etc.) for Mount Kailash Yatra are available at the shops in Purang.

Travel comfortably by AC Volvo bus to Mansarovar Lake, where you will begin the Parikrama of the Holy Lake, covering 105 km in 2-3 hours. You can take a holy bath and perform Puja at the divine Lake of Mansarovar.

After that you will stay overnight at a guest house near Lake Mansarovar. If the weather allows, you can visit the lake at night or early morning (Brahma Muhurta) to experience its divinity.

After having a short drive from Lake Mansarovar, you'll arrive in Darchen which is the base for Mount Kailash Parikrama and Ashtapad Darshan. The visit to Ashtapad will depend on permission from Chinese authorities. You'll stay overnight at a hotel in Darchen.

On the first day of Mount Kailash Parikrama, wake up early and drive to Yam Dwar. From there, start your 10 km Parikrama where you'll feel the scenic beauty of the North Face of Mount Kailash, considered the most sacred view in the world.

For those not participating in the Parikrama, you can stay at a guest house in Darchen (30 minutes from Yam Dwar). From Darchen, Mount Kailash is still visible and you can offer prayers from there.

Note: The Parikrama is not compulsory for all visitors, some prefer to walk, ride a horse, or skip it altogether. Those staying in Darchen will be provided with meals and accommodation and will reunite with the Parikrama group after they complete their journey.

Start your second day of Parikrama from Dirapuk to Dolma La Pass, then visit Zuthulpuk covering a distance of 22 km. You will have to trek uphill at 18600 ft above sea level which makes it the most difficult part of the trekking journey in Kailash Yatra.

From Dolma La Pass move downwards to Gauri Kund and then continue to trek along the river to Zuthulpuk. Overnight stay at Lodge / Guest House.

The first 6-7 km has a very steep climb & the most challenging trek of Yatra (till Dolma La Pass at 5600m).

Yatris are suggested to cover it at a comfortable pace & take rest wherever they need. After covering the first 6-7 km, the remaining distance of 16 km is flat, downward & comparatively easy.

Note: On Day-2 of the Parikrama, you will pass through Shivasthal, (sacred place of Tibetans) and Gauri Kund. After Dolma La Pass, you will trek along the river. Here, you will see the East side of Mount Kailash

On the third and last day of Parikrama, Mount Kailash Parikrama trek is about 8 km and takes almost 3 hours to complete. The Parikrama is usually completed by 9 to 10 a.m.

After completing Parikrama we will drive to Darchen and join other members of the tour who didn't go for Mount Kailash Parikrama. Later, the group will be driven to Dongba. Overnight stay at a Hotel in Dongba.

On the last day, travel to Hilsa by AC luxury vehicle to catch your helicopter flight back to Simikot. From there, board a flight to Nepalgunj. And, from Nepalgunj, you'll be transferred back to Lucknow. End your journey with the blessings of Lord Shiva as you proceed to your home destination!
